Clean Eating and a Positive Body Image

I have recently begun the enormous effort of eating clean.

It is amazing how much processed junk is in our food nowadays - everything I pick seems to have refined sugar and added salt, not to mention the sky-rocketing fat content of even the 'healthy' processed foods. In a bid to become more healthy and fit I have decided to cut out all processed food from my diet, something which my friend was mortified to hear:

'Clean eating? What?'

'Basically you don't eat processed foods, and eat lots of fruit and vegetables with healthy wholegrains and lean protein'

'But why?'

The answer to 'why' my friend is simple - it will make me feel better about myself. For years I have struggled with accepting myself. I've always put myself down as the fat and chunky girl in my dance class and mentally bullied myself for having thicker legs than all my friends, so now I have decided to dis-spell all negativity and focus on improving what I don't like about my body. This has included joining the gym - something which most of the time seems completely pointless as I put all that effort in for an hour and I don't come out looking like Adriana Lima.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I've started a new healthy eating plan, exercise regime and a positive body outlook - I am beautiful and I deserve to feel it inside and out. We should all ditch the junk food, get off the sofa and get some positive mental attitude!

I hope this inspired someone out there to get off their arse and do some squats - get healthy!

Finishing School

I have officially finished school.

I have left sixth form behind.

I have begun a new section of my life.

This is incredibly scary. As of Friday June 7th, my last ever exam was completed and I was free as a bird. Although you may think I am deliriously happy with my new situation, I am actually terrified. Not only am I never going back to your average education again, but I am never going to be in the school environment. I like knowing when I have what lesson, when my lunch break is and what homework I have to do for when. At university I won't have this. I'll be set assignments months in advanced, with my lectures/tutorials changing every week.

Order is good for me. I guess I'll adjust but for now I am terrified of moving out, going to university and changing my life. Although I am very excited to study Fashion.
